Ruby on Rails author doesn’t like Google’s Web Accelerator

by on October 25, 2005

I’m staying out of this one, but Google’s Web Accelerator sure has David Heinemeier Hansson’s goat. He’s the author of Ruby on Rails and works for 37 Signals so someone I pay attention to.

He doesn't really say what's his problem with the accelerator. Is it the fact that it screws up badly designed sites and web apps?
  • Joe
you could easily replace "badly designed" with "common".
  • ElCapitanAmerica
Well that's what happens when people don't read the specs :-)
  • Jim Willis
Naw...his problem is that his company started an ad service (pay per influence) and competes with Google's pay-per-click. So he's a little edgy.
  • There is a few pointers on the Google Web Accelerator here:-
