Technosight interviews Blogniscient Founder

Blogniscient is a competitor to my favorite Memeorandum (and to Digg too). They are planning a bunch of new stuff in the next couple of weeks, I hear. Here Technosight interviews Blogniscient’s founder, Ben Ruedlinger.

So why should *I* care? By that I mean why should someone who is already facing infomation overload just reading people he knows go looking for a world of new sources? How often do I need more than I get from the blogs I already read and the news media? And when I do want more why not just use MSN Search or IceRocket?
This stuff seems good for people who have to track a whole industry for example but why can’t I just let you do that and read the good stuff you and a couple of others link to?

MSN Search or IceRocket don’t bring you back things you might find important (and they don’t bring back the most expert people who are writing about those topics).

Here, let’s look. Search for Karl Rove on any search engine. Find anything useful? No.

But now look at Memeorandum Politics. You’ll quickly find the most interesting stories on Karl Rove’s impending indictments. Why is that important? Well, I just talked with Donald Graham, chairman of the board of the Washington Post Company. He was very interested in this story and this technology. So it’s important to him.

So I am interested in that story and bloggers I read are talking about it. MSNBC is also covering it very well. As is CNN.COM. Some of the blogs memorandum links to I already read. I have enough info. Now I am also interested in the “Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act” which the president signed today. I can’t find anything about it at memeorandum. So it looks like a narrow view of what is important. In other words if you can easily find a lot of news it’s there. If you can’t easily find a lot of news its not there.
MSN Search gave me a lot of good pointers to news BTW. So did IceRocket.
