#18: Forty faces posting like mad

by on November 14, 2005

Forty faces is a site that shows when a bunch of bloggers like me published something. But not in a usual blogrolly way. By posting a picture. Cool, but doesn’t scale. Would be neat to have for a small workgroup, or a family blog, though.

  • As for scaling -- as soon as the site grows to proportions the current one can handle (which is indeed what could happen), I might introduce sub-categories in the form of fortyface.com/microsoft/ , fortyfaces.com/writing/, fortyfaces.com/sports/ and so on. This could then be expanded to work with sub-categories to the sub-categories (sports/basketball/) and so on.
  • Just a PS: The categories would almost certainly need to be based on a good idea themselves, e.g. something very visual, so that the navigation flow could be maintained.
  • You suck!!!!

Google + Firefox is the best in the web!!!!!
  • You could use some SVG to make it scalable ...
  • ... er, scalable in the graphical sense that is...

Quick question. I've got plenty of blogs, but looking to build some forums. phpBB, IPB or vB. Looking for a template like mystery forum. Any idea?

    Cheers

Digsby is a free program which combines IM, Email, and Social Networking into one. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and it’s really good. I'm running 3 IM accounts, facebook, myspace, and 2 gmail accounts on it and everything works. I’m honestly impressed so far.

Check it out and download it here: http://www.lan5.net/digsby.html

I do have a one problem with it though. I can't figure out how to put links into my profile. It's not that big of a deal though.

What do you think, is Digsby better than Trillian and those other communication programs?
