#60: Where’s Scoble? San Francisco Sushi on Sunday?

Julien Codorniou asks “where is Scoble?” He visited my office to find I wasn’t there.

I’m sitting on my brother-in-law’s couch. Where are you?

But, tomorrow I’ll be near Golden Gate Park in San Francisco at about 12:30 p.m. Patrick and I want to have some sushi. We both love wasabi. I should never have gotten Patrick to try sushi. That was an expensive decision. But, at least I have a partner in crime. Maryam hates the stuff.

So, anyone want to get together? Any good sushi places near Golden Gate Park?

    Do they still rent roller skates at the park on Sundays? I used to love going down there on the weekends. Geez, it’s been 20 years since I lived by the Bay!

    Ebisu, 1283 9th Ave, just across Lincoln Way from the Hall of Flowers, is some of the best sushi in town in many people’s opinion. It is also on the expensive side of average.

    Cheaper, and only a few blocks away, is You See Sushi at 94 Judah St.

    I’d love to join you, but I have family plans for tomorrow afternoon.

    Ray’s suggestion of Ebisu is a great choice. I was in town for three days, had dinner at Ebisu one night and enjoyed it so much that I went for lunch the next day.

    Make sure you try some of the creative house specialty rolls (49er Roll was quite good: Sliced salmon, lemon, avocado, tobiko and shiso). One piece of advice: get there early. It’s a smallish place and they don’t take reservations. They don’t need to. The line goes out the door. -K

    You might also try Gordo’s on 9th, although it’s a little different… just think of that carnitas burrito as a large and very satisfying California roll…. ;-)

    (That’s my neighborhood but I’m in Hong Kong today… just got the second fitting at Sam’s Tailor and am about to visit the urinals at The Peninsula…. ;-)

    Some of the best sushi in the Bay Area is Sushi Main St. in Half Moon Bay – ok, not near Golden Gate Park. In SF, my favortie is Godzilla Sushi>. North of the city, go to Sushi Ran in Sausalito.
