Cray co-founder coming to Microsoft

I was just reading about a hiring frenzy at some startup down in Silicon Valley. ;-)

Seems we have our own hiring frenzy going on. Just hired Burton Smith, co-founder of Cray.

OK, enough about Microsoft. Let’s get some non-GYM posts out there. Coming next.

    Burton Smith has never designed any successful commercial product in his entire career. He is good at puffing himself up, but he can’t deliver anything useful. In the 70s and 80s he muddled away at Denelcor and produced the HEP, which was a spectacular flop selling about 7 machines total. In the 90s, he blew a few hundred million bucks from investors, DARPA, and NSA designing the crackerbox MTA, which sold a grand total of 4 machines.

    Put grandpa Burton out to graze on the M$ pasture. At best, you can ignore him and his fever dreams until he is eligible for Social Security.
