Swim for Malaria, Meeting a Welsh View for beer

Des Walsh tells us about a world swim for Malaria. Why is that important? 3,000 children a day die from Malaria, Des writes, and that could be prevented. The swim will raise money for mosquito nets. Sounds good!

I’m giddy like a baby who has a new rattler. Why? Cause Rob Gale wants to meet for beer. His blog is hillarious. One of the best out there. If you see a couple of geeks drinking beer at Murrenger pub in Newport at about 4 p.m. come and join us. I’ve never been in a pub built in 1403. That’s one old pub!

    We must have missed you by a few minutes at the Murrenger in Newport! I popped down as soon as I heard but there was no sign of you or any laptops.

    We have a start up doing automotive CRM for dealers in the area which is going well. We have been integrating VOIP (asterisk) with the software and one of the really cool parts of our work is seeing how VOIP has allowed our customers to use technology in a really different way.

    All conversations with customers are automatically recorded and salesmen can play them just by clicking on a logo in our (hosted) CRM application.

    This is killer functionality for salesmen who are not renowned for taking detailed notes on customer contacts, for customer support who listen to a previous call before starting a survey call and management who want to identify best practice and training needs in staff.

    Not enough noise is being made about the power of voice and application integration outside call centers. The work that Office commincator http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=6... and others are doing is huge and is only going to get bigger.

  • Robert, no worries my FiancĂ© was abit put out when i told her we would be having Subway for dinner because I was meeting an IT GOD but hey..

    Having said that the Fog of War in there was abit heavy for my lungs to take..
