WordPressing in Cork
Had a wonderful day today. Hung out with Tom Raftery, Donncha O Caoimh and his fiance Jacinta. Now, who is Donncha? One of the developers who works on WordPress!
It’s funny, but he’s never met Matt Mullenweg. Jacinta asked “is it true that Matt’s only 21?”
We kissed the Blarney Stone. Donncha took pictures during the day.
After that we visited Heineken’s brewery in Cork and got a tour. It’s run on Windows. Since Tom’s a Mac guy and Donncha is a Linux guy it was nice to meet an IT guy who uses Windows.
Think IT doesn’t matter? Well, it matters to the beer in Ireland. The whole plant is run by computers. More later tonight.

Wait until tomorrow Robert - at the Geek Dinner, I’ll serve you up a pint of Bulmers (cider - brewed in my hometown Clonmel). Hope you’ll like it!

Just in passing did you ask about the editor problem you mentioned in an earlier post? I have the same issues both in IE and FF but put it down to me.

Heineken in Cork?
What’s next, sake in Belfast?
I hear they run the Powers Distillery entirely on CE, a cell phone, and 4′ x 8′ solar panel…

Scoble, I’m so jealous! Have a great time over there. I’m posting this because I created a blog just to share an idea with you (don’t you feel special), and I couldn’t find your email address. Take care and enjoy the Xbox launch!

Travel to Cork, and do Heineken? Dude! Maybe you were at the Murphy’s brewery Heineken bought? I just hope you weren’t drinking lager when good stout was available…. ;-)

It’s nice to hear you’re enjoying the scenery and the refreshments. Note to self: Scoble comes to Ireland and the spammers follow close behind.

John: yeah, it was Murphy’s brewery. And, yes, we had a pint of Murphy’s.
