Can we get Engelbart to blog?

Douglas Engelbart invited me over tomorrow to talk with him and his friends about blogging. What an honor!

Think senior citizens can’t get into computers? You might have a chat with Doug. He’s 80. And out of the thousands of people I’ve met in 2005 he definitely knows the most about computers that I’ve met.

I hope we can get him into blogging. When I met him for the first time he was telling me that the industry is still catching up to his ideas from the 1960s!

I said, well, then, you definitely need to blog your ideas now so in 40 years we’ll know what to do.

Anyway, what would you like Douglas to blog about?

I suspect that this “senior citizen” has forgotten more about computers than the sum total of M$’s researchers.

The man has seen a lot of things. I like the comment that people are just catching up to him. Let him expand on those thoughts, mix ‘em up & let ‘em roll!

Innocent: why stop there? I’d say he’s forgotten more than the sum total of MS, Apple, Google, and Yahoo’s researchers. But, glad to know there are still people out there who spell us with a $ sign.

Thanks to your previous post about him I started reading his 1962 piece “Augmenting the Human Intellect”. (Quite a read). I’d really like to see his thoughts on User Interfaces. I’m sure he has a thing or two to say about that.

I was just talking with him on Friday and he said nice things about you Scoble and told me he intended to start blogging. I told him to head over to wordpress.com and make it happen. Let’s hope!
