The digital way to a free first-class upgrade

Rick Segal (a Canada-based venture capitalist) demonstrates what living the digital lifestyle means and gets a free upgrade to first class in the process. Great story!

I think Chris C has an anger problem … Chris – you’re trying to do Dilbert or something… yet in a very non-funny way. Please go away, you’re ruining the Scobleizer experience.

Interesting story, and glad it worked out for him. But seems like he’s not a freq flyer, rather one of those pesky annonying Yuppie travelers that demand the world conform to them (you see them all the time at airports, injecting Starbucks into the veins nearly).

Flight checking status, is only one factor in determining when a plane takes off, you have to factor in STMP’s, the AAR and EDCT/GDP too, and they reschedule and rejump things, and you’d miss out on some of the bump and delay freebies (if you’d be so inclined). Still flight intelligence is a great idea, whose time has come, and I love FlyteComm, but when dealing with airlines and the FAA, the unpredictable is the norm.

It is neat that he was watching TV with his sling box. Scoble, when are you going to convince Billy Gates to buy that company? It’d be a great adjunct to the media center pc. I know, I know… If Microsoft decides to do something like that, they always have to wait until it becomes a lot more expensive before finally getting around to doing it. Oh well.
