Off to first of Naked launch parties

Let’s all get naked!

Heheh.

No, this isn’t a porn site.

I just am excited about seeing Naked Conversations on Technorati’s book list (it’s currently at #5). How is this list generated? From all the links made on all the blogs.

But, if you don’t think that’s cool, here’s a very cool Honda ad that had my brother and I quite astonished (you need to click the “Watch the Civic ad” link once it gets through the Flash preview).

Where will we be tonight? At John and Alison Dillow’s house (by invite only, sorry). It’s the only historic house in Medina. The law firm he works for, Perkins Coie, has graciously sponsored tonight’s party. Watch the flickr feed for pictures.

  • Robert, as someone who is working outside the US I've been wondering how I was going to get a copy of your book. The snail-mail works very, very where I live. I had it on my Amazon wish list for a while before I realized there was a digital version available! I downloaded it last night in bed on my Lenovo X41 and immediately started reading.

I don't know what role authors play these days in how their books are published, but kudos to you guys for getting it out in ebook format!
  • Robert,
Conagrats on the book! I just finished it and I have to tell you that I really enjoyed it. I like the way that it was written and how it really addressed the culture issues that companies need to be aware of and embrace this new media. Smart ones will, not so smart ones will be left behind.

I am going to recommend this book as required reading to all of my corporate blog clients and prospects.

We have been blogging for a few years and setting up corporate blogs for business clients and the one common challenge is that these initiatives fall into the marketing groups many times. While this is not a bad thing, it does present some challenges in trying to get them to understand that a Business blog is not written by the PR department. It needs to be genuine and really have great value added content; not just marketing & PR speak.

We always recommend that the subject matter experts create the content. I was recently speaking at the San Diego Software Industry Council and gave a 1.5 hour Presentation on how Business Blogs & Podcasts are rapidly changing the way that companies communicate with clients and prospects. (send me an email and i will send you the flash video presentation, PDF notebook and 64 slides)

The really exciting thing is that we are really in the infancy of how Blogs, Podcasts (and the underlying RSS) can be used.

I am excited about the advances that Team RSS & Live.com are making at Microsoft; as this will drive consumption of these conversations and content. Tell them to keep up the good work.

Any chance you will be in Southern Cal for your book tour? They should have you do podcasts of your book tour. How cool would that be! Your book publisher (Wiley) should be all over that.
