Wow, little marketing experiment is quite impressive
Remember that little marketing experiment we ran with Axosoft yesterday? Well, here’s the first day’s results: 530 sold, $2,650 donated to the American Red Cross. All cause of one paragraph here. One link. Wow.

Not only an interesting experiment but very useful for all those that are lucky enough to get it for free. Thanks for the link, I only needed the one user copy (free anyway) but got the 5 user one just to say thanks. I have a quick summary of my experience on my blog

You’re not the only one who linked to this. I saw it first on DownloadSquad:

It wasn’t one link. I counted 50 odd to the program. It IS awesome. And it IS proof that this stuff works, but it wasn’t just one link. Oh, if only 1 link equated to 500 orders, every company would be offering bloggers millions ;-)

Yes, I “bought in”. Too bad I still don’t have an activation code, but I did receive the “Thank you for ordering, by now you’ve received your activation code” email from the Marketing group. I think this is a cool idea, but they should be prepared beforehand to actually meet the “I want it now” demands of people that take part in the “experiment”. I’ve taken part in several of these types of promotions, and I’ve rarely been impressed with the speed of fulfillment.

Jeremy: ahh, cool. Well, it still is pretty cool. The way they were talking on email to me much of the traffic was coming from here.

I thought it was a memetracker experiment? If the bulk of the links came through you, wasn’t the experiment a failure? Memetrackers aren’t necessary.

Hi guys. The experiment’s seed started with Scoble. He had the first link which has caused others to link to it. So 1 link did start it but then others linked to it having heard from Scoble.
With respect to activation codes…if you did not receive your activation code, your email has likely been filed as junk. However, you can also retrieve your activation code instantly after your order if you go to the “My Accounts” page of the Axosoft Online Store:

I was about to buy it for $5 when I realized that the product is free if you have only 1 user which is my case. Giving free license for 1 user is another great marketing tool. Perforce does that also.

In fairness now Robert, you wasn’t the only one linkin’.
As noted above, I saw it elsewhere also. Good post though.
