My boss pulls his own April fools on me

So tonight Maryam and I were out to dinner with a bunch of Adam Kinney's friends and coworkers (it was his birthday) and Jeff was there. When I first got there he said "congratulations."

"Thanks, you know it was a joke, right?"

"Oh, it was? We already cleaned out your office and I have everything in boxes in my truck and your email is being shut off, cause the lawyers considered your post written proof that you weren't a Microsoft employee anymore."

"Good one Jeff!"

Of course I wasn't completely sure if he was pulling my leg or not until I got home and checked I could still get on email. Heheh.

Oh, I thought it was funny that Nick Carr won the annual hypocritical April Fools' Day "Dark Cloud" award.

Anyone notice that Hugh Macleod has been on fire lately? (He got a new Tablet PC and he's been kicking out cartoons at a much faster pace). He's the guy who did the little cartoon above.

    I particularly like his "Should Amazon Blog?" toon.

    Does the fact that he uses a Tablet PC have anything to do with him kicking out cartoons faster lately? I thought he drew them on the back of business cards. Where does the Tablet PC come in to it? I don't see the connection.

    BTW, I'm not trolling or flaming, just wondering. Maybe he does draw them on the Tablet PC.

    Diego, I drew exclusively on the back of business cards between December 1997 up until about 2 months ago, when I switched to a Tablet PC.

    I needed a break.

    That being said, I see this switch as temporary. I have a new project coming up in a few week's time, which will be back on the bizcard format again.

    You should have caught Jeff's fools quite easily. The job you have must require to check your email all the time. So how come you had not had checked your email a little before.

  • OK, so I have to finally admit a Tablet is good for something. If Hugh having a Tablet means more cartoons, then I'm all for it!
