Cool blog about 3D virtual worlds

Every once in a while I find a blog that just stands out from the crowd. Mark Wallace's 3pointD is one of these. If you're interested in stuff like Second Life or Google's SketchUp, this is the place to watch.

  • I first became familiar with Mark Wallace as Walker Spaight in Second Life, after he did this great article (and this was way back, o my):

What I like about his blog is how when I resize it really wide, the middle part stays a fixed-width and there's gray borders and the content just fits perfectly. I also like his usage of SLurls (SLurl.com for more info) to get a better feel for context of what SL's map looks like if ya've never been in there before. And how he updates them, like right now it's COME CHECK OUT THE HOBO VILLAGE! I enthuse. ;)

Also really unique is how he does his advertisement column and then the one further on the right--instead of having flanks, as I've often seen. That's pretty special design which helps make the entries readable. =]
