Microsoft’s naming guy answers

David Webster, the guy who runs naming at Microsoft, answered my post and various commenters here.

He says "simpler, better names" are coming. "I’m certainly not trying to “cancel Christmas” as one of the posters suggested."

Every Microsoft employee who names things should spend some time with David (he has a challenge for them, and corrects me too). I'm trying to get David to come on video to talk about his approach and how he's trying to change our naming strategy.

I think you'd enjoy meeting him and everyone who names things would learn from him.

Who’s responsible for the name PowerShell? :) Obviously someone who has no idea about naming.

Please, just go back to Monad. Even your own web site has trouble finding the name:

Just another comment on Apple. Apple seems to have issues with its company name itself, “Apple”. I guess they are fighting this law suite the third time.

  7. Diego: unfortunately Monad tested badly, so that name isn’t coming back.

  15. Just judging by the fact that you have to over pay at Amazon I wouldn’t say the 360 is here now. Wasn’t the scarcity supposed to be over a month ago? I suggest you start asking the people around you if they have pass the PMP Certification…
