It’s Steve Garfield’s week

by on June 4, 2006

It's VloggerCon week (Video blogging conference that'll be held in San Francisco next weekend), which means it's Steve Garfield's week. He's been videoblogging longer than most anyone I know. I love his Vlog Soup where he brings us the best of Videoblogs around the Web.

Is videoblogging hot? Well, Vloggercon is sold out.

Weird, before the registration system is closed, but Steve says there's still tickets left. I'll be there.

He was also Podcast of the week in The (London/English) Times. Don't know if he knows though, I don't watch him unless he's on Rocketboom.
  • Thanks Robert!

    Vloggercon is not sold out.

There are 100 tickets still left.

I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of people at Vloggercon.
  • Oh, wacky. When I tried before it said "Registration Closed." Weird.

    Robert, are you attending Vloggercon?
  • Hey glad to see you will be attending. Stop by the recording live music session and say hi!
  • jonnygoldstein
Duh. I see it now. You are attending.
  • Hope you come to the oral history/digital storytelling session on Sunday afternoon. :)
  • Looking forward to mixing it up this weekend, hope to meet and greet and learn about the latest in videoblogging

Video blogging? You're kidding, right? People at paying to go to a conference to talk about how to make a video of their pontifications and post it on the internet? Gee!. What'll they think of next? Mark Cuban has nothing to be afraid of.

    I know, I know...

And to top it off MOST of the content is the usual geek slop shop-talk and get this, INTERVIEWS with other vblog and podcasters, wheeee. Not to mention all the stirring breaking reports from other videoblogging/vlog-eggnog conferences and Independent Film twisty thingies, coupled with longish chit-chats with Theatre and Art majors (which always a case for unlimited never-ending fun). And oh, they "deposit bottles and get money back", you just can't miss that.

And getting technical, looking at his stuff, it reminds me (yet again) why I hate Canon GL2's, that white video ugh look, but maybe the GL3 will do 24P. And too many signature FCP looks.

PS - HDNet Films is a heck of an upcoming production company, sorta too artsy and way way too niche (S&Man, Herbie, Hunter, Surfwise) but then it's doing some (seemingly) pretty decent Indy's (Fay Grim and Diggers on my see list and War Within was great).
  • Not sure the angst above me but oh well.

I'll be there, consumer publishing of videos --great!
