  1. Machinima does sound interesting – though the second link seems to be a duplicate of the first.

  3. Happy Birthday SL. I hope to see more folks checking out what is going on in Second Life and if you are interested in Machinima let me know. They held a Machinima festive during the celebration and I got a sneak peak at some of the work that was done. It is truly amazing how much can be done these days for so little cost.

Oh and for all you SL’ers or others that want to check it out who are going to be at Gnomedex, we are going to have a meetup at the Edgewater starting at around 5pm on Thursday. If you are interested in coming drop me a line thoughtplasma(at)yahoo.com or just stop by.

  7. Maurice: let me get started in my new job. I gotta spend some quality time in Second Life in August. My son has gotten way ahead of me and I need to build some stuff and play around a bit before I go on any more shows. :-)

  9. Paul Marino’s stuff is great. The Still Seeing Breen video is excellent, it’s a music video using Valve’s facial animation technology in their engine to get one of the characters lip-syncing to the song. Interestingly enough, Valve’s tech uses the Microsoft Speech API to do the phoneme recognition for the lip-sync. It’s cool stuff.

But it’s still more work than getting someone to tilt their view up and down in time to the speech in Halo, so that tends to get done more…
