I only use Technorati as an outlet for my blog, I don’t use it for its blog-finding abilities. It picks up way too much garbage and foreign-language stuff for it to be really useful. Not to mention that I don’t know where to start. I’d much rather take recommendations from subject matter experts themselves than have to dig through Technorati myself
I’ll stick to Digg, TechMeme, Scoble and Rubel (and a multitude of others) for my blogosphere needs.

I still prefer Google Blog Search. It’s simple and gets right to the point. There’s no need for javascript (AJAX) and bright, flashy graphics. I don’t use Technorati at all, Google Blog Search works JUST fine.

[...] As Greg points out, rather humourlessly, it’s like being on acid and hallucinating, what’s strange though is that a lot of people seem to be liking it. [...]
[...] There was nothing wrong with Powazek’s design. It was unique to the brand where this new design does nothing to make the site stand out from the plethora of Web 2.dough crap out there. Then again, I’m reminded of that bizwhiz formerly from Seattle who preaches that bad design sells. I’m not up for drinking that Kool-Aid just yet but it would seem that David Sifry slammed the Dixie cup and donned the purple jumpsuit. [...]
I like it too! Very clean looking.

Some other good news from the Technoroti refresh is that we learned that they are using the new jQuery JavaScript API http://jquery.com/blog/2006/07/24/technorati-using-jquery/

too busy. Take a clue from google. Nothing below the fold. If I have to scroll down on a home page, there is too much content to absorb.

Robert, thanks for the link, I am still getting votes – plan to close it tomorrow, and bring the results back here.
