Interesting podcast service overview

Evan Williams (the co-founder of the company that brought us Blogger, and now is founder of Odeo, a podcasting company) has done the research on the competition and posted that yesterday. Interesting charts! Thanks Evan!

    I consume podcasts all the time and I rarely go to the companies site. I get the content from iTunes. My collegue sent me this link. Thanks. I’m in technology and most of the podcasts sites don’t have good content. PodTech is the only one with quality content. I rareley go to odeo and don’t have time to use their product. To me comedy podcasts like TWIT and professional ones like PodTech add the most value. Although the PodTEch podcast on Paris Hilton/Youtube was funny. For video I don’t use my ipod but my kids do.

    They totally didn’t include The Podcast Network…which on Alexa stats is higher than Podtech.

    Interesting posting by Ev, really helpful except for one thing: the so called Statistics by Alexa.

    He makes some adjustments but unless everybody is using it, this is a reason to toss away the results at once.

    It is only preferring a certain browser usage, it is preferred by the english speaking audience – hell Technorati has a better ranking mechanism like that and we know about the hickups with that.

    *sigh* it devalues his work on that completely.

    Wow, in the online chat I suggested you use the Scoble brand which is bigger than the PodTech brand. Here’s support for that from Alexa – check out that HUGE spike when you jumped the HMS Microsoft Ship.

    I agree with Ducan, this can’t be taken seriously if the dude forgets to put in the first Comerial Podcast network, TPN. Seeing it is alledged that your first podcast was on TPN, I thought you would have pointed that Robert!
