Hugh cracks me up

Hugh Macleod cracks me up. I know that when I’m 60 I’ll probably be talking about what Scoble said. Patrick Scoble, that is. If I’m not in a cardboard box somewhere. :-)

But, no matter what happens, I’ll still have my Hugh Macleod business cards, my Hugh Macleod coasters, my Hugh Macleod t-shirt, my new Hugh Macleod PowerPoint slide deck, and my Hugh Macleod poster.

Damn, I’m interesting cause I’m a Hugh Macleod cult member! :-)

Seriously, I have all that stuff. It’s weird.

    Some of you have been reading this blog since my dad wrote it. You might remember how he used to kid me about how much I liked Apple. Of course, this was way before Apple’s hostile takeover of Microsoft back in 2019. That would have been unthinkable back in 2006.

    Lots of things have changed since then. Back in those days, Google was a huge player. Their stock was doing great, right up until the Googleplex AI achieved sentience and killed all their human employees in Oregon.

    Funny how things change, isn’t it…

    Anyway, I was looking through Dad’s cardboard box the other day, and guess what I found? A bunch of turn-of-the-century Hugh Macleod stuff! Yeah! I posted it to eSothebay’s, and I’m getting six-figure bids for this stuff, because it was all from Macleod’s starving-artist days, way before he was famous. Finally, I’ll be able to pay off my Apple Credit chip…

    Karim, only six figures? I’m hoping for seven!

    Well, you know, the dollar was revalued because of triple-digit inflation after the crash of ’22, right after the oil fields ran dry in ’21. So six figures then is like seven figures now.

    But I’m getting ahead of myself. ;-)
