Video from Burning Man
I knew that traffic in Silicon Valley seemed a bit light this week. Everyone is at Burning Man. There’s a fun video site from there. I wish I was there. It just didn’t work out this year, but it’s one of the things I really want to do.
One thing about Burning Man. I’m told it’s something you need to experience. Watching a little two inch video about it won’t really do it justice.

Scobleizer, you have no idea how much I dislike having to admit I’m wrong. I almost dislike it as much as being wrong. But, my mother taught me to admit it when I am.
And just what I might be wrong about? It’s PayPerPost.com. After now being cheated by it and/or one of its advertisers, I’m entirely on your side. It’s a bad idea which is very poorly run. Bloggers beware.
Okay, that’s twice now I’ve come back to say you were right. Once more and you owe me a visit here at the beach for fresh local seafood on me, as soon as the latest tropical storm passes.
(And with this posting, I’m certain I’ll find my PayPerPost account closed sometime soon. Maybe you’d like to contract for a “hit” in kind. If so, I’m your man.)

I watched a programm on the burning man a few years back and it looked great - apparently money is no good there you swap things.

Hey homie. You should subscribe to the flickr feed for the “BurningMan” tag. http://www.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?tags=burningman&format=rss_200
I’ve been twice, and planned to go this year, but had to bail out. Watching this feed has been a tiny taste of being there.
But it definitely is a must do scenario. If you go sometime, we should do a blogging/podcast theme camp! ;)
Here’s some pics for my first time:

Scoble - thanks for posting this. Seeing footage from “home” is just what I needed this morning. I’ve been several time and a bunch of my friends are out there now having a blast. The “conversation” out there on the playa is all about community, collabroation, ideas, art, passion and self expression. Familiar themes within the world of social computing. Here is a link to images from my time out at The Man in 2005 - http://www.flickr.com/photos/56177552@N00/sets/945100/

SippinWhisky: what’s the dealio? I’m trying to learn as much about the PayPerPost platform as possible. What exactly happened that you’re unhappy about. I’ve seen 100:1 comments from happy PPP bloggers, paid and unpaid (see some digg comments at my link below) so I’m assuming your experience is in the minority — still important from a customer service sense, but the minority. I could be wrong so let’s connect on details. Thanks!

If I know you’re a partner with PayPerPost, then I won’t read your blog because I can’t trust what you’re saying is true.
August 31st, 2006 at 4:54 pm
Hey Sippin’.
We surely don’t intend to turn off your account. Quite to the contrary, I love the feedback as it only helps us in the long run. As of today, we are two months old, bootstrapping it, and still have issues to iron out. I will be the first to admit that.
Please let me know how I can help you, and what I can do to make it better.

Scoble,
Off-topic I know: SORRY! But I know email won’t reach you.
There is a major issue with Technorati that seems to be hitting C, D, E, and Z-list bloggers that none of us can seem to get an answer or solution to. I’ve tried multiple Support requests, email to Dave Sifry, posts on his blog … no response.
Can you help by publicizing it? Please.
Details and links to others having the same issue:

Thanks!

Dude, I definately recommend going to Burning Man, but keep these things in mind:
1. Go with close friends; it’s an intimate experience
2. Don’t gawk; participate!
3. Pack plenty of water, goggles and face masks — it’s dusty!
4. Expect to spend the 1st 24 hours sick; it’s a harsh environment that takes getting used to

The hippies have multiplied to the point of having their own city. ;)
It seems like an extremely unique experience to say the least ! I think next year will be the year.

Considering Twelve Horses is headquartered in Reno, Nevada, I feel it is my obligation to talk about one of the largest anomalies our area experiences each year around the Labor Day Weekend - Burning Man. To explain what Burning Man

[...] Burning Man TV (thanks Scoble). Incredible, informative, and amazing. People will do some incredible things. Check out the 8/30 video, toward the end, there is a segment on one vehicle there called the Bi-polar Express. You gotta chuckle. I’m not sure I could let people tag my car…but “to each their own!” [...]

[...] Scoble usually posts many times a day, varying in length from short notes on something that has just occurred to him, to longer more journalistic pieces. Whilst the majority of his output is tech, this style applies also to his family-orientated observations, most movingly to his mother’s recent decline and death. [...]

The large structure known as “the Belgian Waffle” (but ‘officially’ Uchronia) can be seen on my blog.
Ironically, while some people are lobbying on Tribe.net to have it referred to by its proper name, people are overwhelming finding my clip of it by searching ‘belgian waffle +burning man’ (I tagged it with official and unofficial names). Even in the wake of burning man, you can only control so much about the names people give your art…

My wife sent this to me today, and I’m afraid to say that the more emotionally intelligent gender of us humans (maybe the more intelligent in general ) is seriously at odds with my way of seeing the world after work: a better way to improve home life would be to have sex in 6 rooms of the house over the course of the month instead of just two. This is off topic but my way of saying “hi” as a newbie.
“Homes are our immediate retreats from dizzying work days. One of the ways to attain calming interiors is by choosing relaxing colors and soft lighting. White or light colors have a soothing effect to the eyes and senses. However, overdoing the white walls might just create a too-sterilized ambiance. To keep away from being too boring, use highlights like gold or yellow here and there. For your lighting, dimmer lights and soft glows will not only relax your tired nerves but create drama in your interiors.
The placement of candles near mirrors, for example, would replicate the soft glow and add to that dreamy sensation.”

Burning Bikes: The Wacky, Weird Vehicles of Burning Man
One of the most interesting parts of Burning Man, at least for this gearhead, is the wacky collection of vehicles. Not your basic choppers or streetfighters…oh no, those would be far too normal for a Burner (as many participants call themselves). Just

Recently a good friend of mine told me to go to the local pharmacy and buy some Sildenafil. I am very curious about what kind of medicine is this? Anyone can help?
I will be very grateful to help me.
