Devlicio.us, love that URL
Yeah, it probably gets close to infringing on del.icio.us’ trademark, but what the heck. Devlicio.us is a new site for developers who use Microsoft’s stuff.

Perhaps Mike Arrington will be able to recommend a good “cease & desist” lawyer to del.icio.us for trademark infringement http://www.mathewingram.com/work/2006/09/21/mike-should-lay-off-techcrush-and-dead-20/

…and they probably could have avoided trademark troubles by naming it devio.us

That is a clever url. And a good looking site . They are using Community Server 2.1 as their platform.
But it’s not a boookmark site at all. It’s really a clone (or franchise?) of the popular .NET community blogging site CodeBetter.com by the same folks.

I think the TM issue might be a long straw, after all, can del.icio.us trademark every .us name that has icio in it, particularly given that icious is the ending of a number of common english words?

“Devlicious” isn’t an english word. I don’t know about calling it a trademark violation, but chalk this up as more evidence of the complete lack of originality in the Microsoft culture.

There are better URL’s for a Microsoft site, such as: atrocio.us, malicio.us, pugnacio.us, barelyconscio.us, vicio.us, falicio.us, or devilsR.us

Devlicio.us is a nice play on del.icio.us, but I never liked the del.icio.us URL in the first place. Such a URL almost guarantees that nobody over 30 will go there. I’ll even go so far as to say that almost nobody over 25 goes there. I’ll even say that almost nobody out of college goes there. LOL
Interesting that the guy that appears to run the Devlicio.us site (at least their contact guy) is brendan.tompkins@gmail.com, a gmail address. And the site has Google ads. What happened to the idea that Google users hated Microsoft? LOL
Oh, and to the fool above that said, “chalk this up as more evidence of the complete lack of originality in the Microsoft culture”, given that the site is run buy Gmail users and financed by Google ads, could it not be said that the site is run by those of the “google” culture? (Your point would still hold, since Google isn’t exactly the most original company out there.)
