[...] Thanks, Robert. I signed up as the 38th.  I imagine there will be ten times that tomorrow. [...]

  2. Doug Karr Says:

    Robert,

I’ve already found my feed getting ’splogged’ quite a bit on the web. Don’t you think that partial feeds help that? Just curious.

    Thanks,
    Doug
PS: I switched to a full feed tonight. :)

  3. Richard Brownell Says:

Aren’t petitions usually designed with some petitionee in mind? :P

  4. Christian Cadeo Says:

Added my name too. I refuse to subcribe to any partial feeds with the only exception being Robert Cringely.

Oh and Cringely oddly enough is the worst offender as his feed is not even a partial one. He decides that a ONE sentence feed is sufficient. I mean how am I suppose to know what “Is there a beer bong on YOUR resume?” is about without clicking thru. Yes, I am exaggerting a tad bit as the title gives some clue’s but still.

I love the guys blog, but man this is annoying.

Scoble, you got to tell him to change it. I mean he doesn’t even have ads on his blog. Why the heck not have a full feed??

  7. Tom Ligda Says:

Hola, Senor Scoble. Funny I didn’t even realize it until now, but I read your feed using Dave Winer’s NewsRiver application and your feeds are truncated! Seems like I get to see the “description” field and not the “content:encoded” field using NewsRiver. Who woulda thunk it?

Just thought you’d be interested. Maybe Dave has to buy you dinner now.

  8. Robert Scoble Says:

Tom: Interesting. Gotta get that fixed.

  9. Fullfeeds: A pointless petition » Another Blogger Says:

  11. Tamar Says:

Scoble, I also see truncated feeds on Bloglines if that helps.

  12. Michiel Says:

    No full feeds = unsubscribe
    No commenting = unsubscribe

    it really is that simple.

  13. chris leonard Says:

Just re-iterating what Tamaer says - I also get truncated feeds on Bloglines even though I ticked the ‘full feed’ box.

  14. Clique Communications: New Media Marketing » Blog Archive » Full Feeds Please Says:

  15. Duncan Says:

    Robert,
that’s great, but perhaps you’d care to explain why the feed I have for your blog is a part feed?
    http://scobleizer.wordpress.com/feed/rss/
being all for full feeds is one thing, but offering readers like myself a part feed…well to put it simply, please explain.

  16. Robert Scoble Says:

Duncan: my feed is a full text feed. Your reader isn’t pulling the right feed. NewsGator pulls down my feed as a full text feed. Maybe you need a better reader?

  17. Volledige feeds of niet? (2) at TibsBits::NL Says:

  19. The Geek of Everything » Petition for Full Feeds Says:

[...] One thing that Robert Scoble and I do agree on is including your entire post in your feeds; not just a summary. I added my name to the petition for full RSS feeds today. You should to. [...]

  20. Wei-Yen Says:

    Robert,

I agree with having full feeds, but I found it surprising that your feeds show only two lines of text. I have sent you an email with a screenshot of what i see.

    Huh?

How come I get only partial feeds from your Blog?

Wait lemme check my feed options…

Nope, there’s nothing I see fit! Repaint, you thinner!

    Regards,

PS: Obviously, I am in a jolly mood, so please excuse the hyperactivity… :)

  23. Paul OFlaherty Says:

Funny thing, your feed only gives me the first two lines of each entry on my iPAQ. Yet I get the full feed in my Deskyop Aggregator.

  24. O’Flaherty - » Truncated RSS feeds are like foreplay without sex. Damn frustrating. Says:

[...] Last week I came across a petition for full feeds (via Scoble), I signed it but didn’t give it much thought. I did link to it in the weekly roundup. In the past 24 hours I’ve had plenty of time to think about it and realize why this campaign is good for bloggers. This post expresses my feelings on the issue, and I encourage you to sign the petition. [...]

  25. Daptivate > by Kyle Beyer : Syndication, Comments, and Trackbacks Says:

[...] In a petition for syndication of excerpts, Danny Sullivan makes some interesting points primarily focused on copyright infringement.  Danny definately has a strong opinion on the subject.  His post was in response to Scoble’s push for full post syndication.  Scoble doesn’t give much reason for his position other than that he ”hates partial RSS and Atom subscription feeds.”  The number of people who have actually signed the Full Feeds Petition, 316, tells me there must not be too much passion for the position.  Although, I’m not aware of a similar petition for partial post syndication … so how can one tell.
