New URL here

by on October 30, 2006

Now if you type in http://scobleizer.wordpress.com it’ll redirect to http://scobleizer.com. A little easier to remember. Hope it doesn’t mess anything up.

  • Robert, thanks so much for the URL. I have wanted this service for about 6 months but didn't want to give up a good google PR!

    Appreciate your feedback.

"scoblizer" is tough to spell. You cannot make a url simple by taking out the easy parts.
  • David Dalka
Good luck in the no support world.
  • Still don't understand how you did that...

I can't see redirect options in wordpress admin

How can godaddy control where a wordpress domain points?

    Am I being very stupid?
  • Nikolai
    Finally!
You should have done that years ago.
  • Sweet! I've had friends tell me all year that I should have set up my blog on my own domain instead of on wordpress.com - time to go register one :D
  • Rick
Speaking of URLs Robert, I think it's time you figure out how it is that Google still lists your 2005 blog as #1 and #2.

    Still.

    How is that technically possible?
  • Dude, make sure your profile is updated too, your name on comments you leace still point to your old address...and read Engtech's entry on the wordpress domain stuff also, on the quirks and benedictions of domain over subdomain urls.
  • Wow, cool, I Just noticed this before I read this post.

Smart move, so far so good, and even if it does mess something up, folks will adjust for you
  • I did this before the great and honorable Robert Scoble?!? Whoa...
  • Matt: I'll get that fixed. Thanks for reminding me. I totally forgot about it.
  • Any chance you could also update your "link blog" on the right to point to your new Google Reader shared items link blog instead of just a copy of your actual blog? Or do you keep it this way for a reason?

    Thanks!

. :-D Both sites are now PageRank 8 - - which is VERY HARD to get - hopefully, this redirect will NOT hurt on Google -

Their Algos have a history of False Positives
  • Wordpress.com lets you do that. I registered my domain on GoDaddy.com, then switched it on under "options/domains."
  • How....
