  1. oh yeah, just to clarify, it was not supposed to “open” the vloggies, just to be played between 6-7 during happy hour! but there is a lost animation that was supposed to open the vloggies which will be published on dabble soon and we’ll get it here too, that’s what joe klein mentioned… cant wait to see that!!!!!!

  7. Interesting comments so far. As the announcer and co-producer of The Vloggies, let me relate to you the real story, at least as I know it! This video was submitted to us pretty much at the last minute. Irina (the show’s lead producer and co-host) called me the day before the show and asked me where I felt we could “slide it in.” Since the show’s sequence was now locked down, I suggested that, if the video was worthy, that we run it just before the show open. Irina agreed and that was that. I was so busy that I didn’t give it another thought. At the show, I was so preoccupied in the final minutes before we started the ceremony that I neglected to ask Ryan Junell (our video guy, who also edited all of the vidclips that ran during the ceremony) whether or not he was “ready to roll” with this video (rather than the preoduced “show open” video montage). I hate to admit it, but, as this was a last minute addition (and not added to our cue sheet) that I myself just forgot. Even so, I believe that Ryan did, in fact, have the video cued up and ready. But then something happened that not too many people know about. The entire video playback system CRASHED just moments before the show was to start! We were facing a video awards show WITHOUT VIDEOS! Needless to say, I was a little preoccupied and yes, I simply forgot about the “forgotten video” (which wouldn’t have run anyway). Even worse, due to the video system being down, the show launched without the show open montage video and only with the backup audio track (which explains to those of you who attended why the volume of the big show open was so low). So, the official show open and montage did not run either. Things were tense, and we proceeded to announce the first award, for “Best Male Vlogger” and still had no video to show. ZeFrank, winner of the award, couldn’t attend and he recorded his acceptance speech. We couldn’t get that to run at first and we’re really beginning to panic! Finally, after about a quart of sweat and a little help from the “tech gods,” Ryan got the video system up and running! We were able to run the acceptance ZeFrank’s acceptance video and, with “angels on our shoulders,” the rest of the show, which just kept getting cooler and cooler! Okay, so now it’s out. There’s the real story about the opening videos! Thanks again to all involved who helped us make The Vloggies truly a night to remember! ZeFrank’s acceptance video has already been posted. Now, let’s see if we can get the other “lost video” up for all to see. (It would be a nice shot for our great video dude, Ryan, who worked so hard on the piece). I’ll talk with Irina about getting the show open video online for all to, finally, see!

  9. That reminds me of back in high school when the A/V kids would make these videos with their buddies that the whole school occasionally had to watch at events and they were only sorta amusing to a few people and everybody else yawned.

    Yeah.
