  1. [...] Recently there’s been quite a bit of talk on “Google bombing”, where you link to a certain site on a bunch of different sites to elevate its status in the search results for a certain term. Apparently martinlutherking.org, whom I shall not link to, has done this and made their dishonoring site at the top of the search results for “martin luther king.” But someone had the idea to use this against them, and Google bomb the proper results back in there. It’s an interesting concept. [via] [...]

  2. [...] Various bloggers, such as Robert Scoble have joined this campaign to boost genuine sites about Martin Luther King. The technique being used here is ‘Google bombing’ whereby a lot of links from different websites improve the search rankings of a particular website (explanation). ‘Google bombing’ is seen by some as morally questionable, and rightly so, but in this case it could well be the lesser of two evils. Google-Bombing consists of creating a large number of blogs and posting links. A number of people, including Robert Scoble, are fighting back with their own Google-Bomb campaign. I’m in. [...]

  5. Repeating what I’ve repeated elsewhere (my blog, the Digg page, the Tuttle SVC blog, etc):

For those that think this violates marthinlutherkingdotorg’s free speech rights, I posit the theory that it can’t possibly reach first page at Google without Google-bombing itself. Either that, or it really is true that The Stormfront White Nationalist Community really is more representative of mainstream White thinking in America. Which I sincerely doubt.

  7. [...] Robert Scoble is upset. He’s upset because a website that has negative things to say about Martin Luther King Jr. has the #1 spot in Google. He feels that this is an error, or a deliberate Google Bomb by the owners of MartinLutherKing.org. In order to rectify that error, he wants people to help him link bomb Google. [...]
