Sam Sethi and Hugh McLeod on ScobleShow

by on December 20, 2006

I loaded four videos up today on ScobleShow.com. Whew, we were busy in London.

Anyway, the breakfast video we did with Sam Sethi and friends (he was the guy fired last week from TechCrunch UK) is up. It seems like Sam knows every geek out there — he very graciously introduced me to tons of people and spent the entire day a couple of Friday’s ago in London with me (I greatly appreciated that). There Sam asked what are the five things geeks want for Christmas. I guess Sam will now answer “a job.”

Oh, and don’t miss Hugh McLeod (of GapingVoid.com blogging fame) being interviewed in a taxi cab along with Sarah Blow of London Girl Geek Dinners. That came after he gave the Pissed as Newts tour a tour down Saville Row. Lots of fun.

Hugh is the guy who draws cartoons on the backs of business cards. I see lots of his work on people’s business cards at blogging conferences and such.

  • Hey Robert, Sam and Mike are back up and running http://vecosys.com/
  • Nice videos Scoble. Thanks.
  • How come you told thats nice ?I dont know, what you understood from that?
  • Bala: what you talking about? The breakfast one? It's a little hard to follow, yeah, but then English geeks are simply a little hard to understand. Sorry about that.
  • Scoble: Yeah..thats what i meant... you could have given that in the post right? Fine, managable :)
  • Basically they were talking about what they want for Christmas. Pretty content light. I like the Hugh video better, but it's good to get a video image of Sam up there so you can get a gauge of what kind of guy he is.
  • Thanks... got it now...
    thanks a lot
  • Nice episode, it's cool to see a bit of the background there pre-disaster. We were in the right place at the right time (maybe that isn't the best way to put it...), and GizBuzz.co.uk, a site in our Oratos Media network, interviewed Sam the day after the TechCrunch affair. The podcast is here: http://gizbuzz.co.uk/2006/episode-4-exclusive-e...
  • It would have been more interesting to hear Sam's side of his 'departure' from TechCrunch (UK) than listen to his hangers on tell me about their oh-so-funny Xmas lists.
  • Ian
Good to see Sam is back-up and running. He's a good guy.
  • Andy: I think Robert interviewed Sam before he was given the boot.
  • Sam and Co were filmed about 10 days before Le Web 3...
  • Andy: Paul's right.

And there's been PLENTY said about the TechCrunch UK meltdown on both sides of the aisles.
