New way of thinking about resolutions

Charlie Green has a great idea about how to improve New Year’s resolutions: start with a thought of gratitude rather than get into self loathing.

Me, I’m thankful I work with Jennifer Jones who got a great interview with marketing guru Regis McKenna (who helped launch Apple, among other firms according to Wikipedia).

He says some interesting things about how marketers should approach social media/blogs/wikis, etc.

  1. Last year I did the best new year’s resolution ever: I resolved to do 1 pushup and 1 situp on January 1st. Two of each on January 2nd, and continue, adding one each day.

On December 31st, I did 365 pushups and situps (not in one set, of course!). It was hard work, but really it was just a matter of dedication.

My body changed tremendously over the course of the year. Details over (and a challenge to you, Robert!) at my blog.
