Did Calacanis just call me fat?

Yeah, Jason Calacanis just called me fat and challenged me to lose weight in a program titled “fat bloggers.” Ahh, I just ate a piece of Swiss chocolate. How am I gonna lose weight with the Swiss stuff around? Anyway, I weigh 214 pounds and would like to get down to 190. Of course, that’d require not eating Swiss chocolate and getting off my lazy behind and do some exercise. That reminds me of this Wellsphere conversation I had recently.

  1. Dude…

No white stuff, and in the gym 6-7 days a week, hence 248 to 185…perhaps too thin?

    Robert,

If you want to lose weight, you need to make small but persistant changes in what you eat. People who make big changes or “go on a diet” tend to gain any weight back that they lose.

I suggest South Beach, which has some good peer-reviewed studies behind it about the benefit both to weight and health. Shangri-la is too weird to me, and AFAIK doesn’t have any clinical research behind it. You can eat small amounts of chocolate on South Beach, though you have to watch the sugar.

Exercise does help, though it’s more for health than for weight loss. There are lots of fat fit people.

That puts me at around 10% body fat.

  10. I would never ever pass on swiss chocolate just to loose some pounds. And as I’ve experienced myself you don’t need to. The secret is to get the fat burning rate up. But you won’t get this done without hopping into your sneakers and start running or cycling or whatever gets your cardio up and running. Cheers, Jan
