Thank you to all those who fought to get our independence. Why? So I could say to Google’s Reader Team “your server is down.” It’s been down since yesterday, so you can’t see my link blog.
Have fun with your families and if you’re not in the USA back to work!
UPDATE: I posted new items to my link blog and it started working again. Very strange.

Happy 4th of July! Jap, working hard over here (Europe) …pretty quiete in the web if the US is not at work

It’s time for Google to put the Reader team out of the Labs and under the corporate umbrella…

Happy Independence Day, Robert!
You can wave your
iPhone, err, American flag, proudly!Happy Independence Day, Robert!

you’re promoting 1) a link blog that i cannot access while 2) badmouthing a service that’s vital to getting RSS out of dave winer’s basement and onto my mom’s screen in florida.
not very useful. what chapter is this in your book?

meanguy: I’ve found that when I write about things on my blog they get fixed and start interesting conversations. For instance, by doing this, I realized that not everyone’s link blog is down. That might be helpful information in getting a service fixed back up.

And my book was ALL about listening to your customers using social media. I know the Google Reader team is using Google Blog Search to keep track of where their users are having troubles.

“And my book was ALL about listening to your customers using social media. ”
But who listens to whiney blowhards who cry wolf about things are broken … i.e. “iPhone has no family plan” … is getting yourself ignored really what you’re after, Robert?

my hunch is that the google reader team has more effective means to determine database problems and track uptime than by scanning the scobleizer comments — which aren’t even viewable in google reader.
using your blog as a platform to affect change in this manner is not long term viable. you’ll piss off your partners and your readers. even amanda finally figured out that bitching about ABC in public wasn’t the right way to get css and javascript code tweaked.
google needs to do a better job communicating to YOU about their service problems. having you make a post so that other people can say “nope, not broken here” is just stupid. it’s happened several times on your blog now.
if you’re not willing to fire up your email client and discuss it like a gentleman, can’t you just twitter this crap?

Karl: you have a point there.
Meanguy: I hate email and the Google Reader team uses http://blogsearch.google.com where my post has already shown up.

I haven’t noticed that the “Google Reader” server has been down. What server are you on?
It works very well in sweden…

My husband has not been having an issue with Google Reader for the last week. What is “your” issue?
