IPhoneWebDev site is awesome

Christopher Allen talking about APIs

Christopher Allen was just here. He runs the iPhoneWebDev Web site. That really is great and there’s tons of cool apps. I’ll share the best tomorrow. One? Gasapp. It will find you a gas station near you and tell you the price. Here’s a post about it. I put up a short interview with Christopher so you can hear him talking.

Scoble, how about putting a “i” in front of your blog name “iScobleizer”. Seems like it’s all iPhone all the time.

BTW, the woman in the picture is Nicole Lazarro, of XEO Designs. She calls herself an “emotional architect” and helps game companies improve her games. She has an excellent document “Why We Play Games” at http://www.xeodesign.com/whyweplaygames.html

  7. chris and LayZ: don’t you have anything better to do on a Friday night? Now I understand why no one wants to go out with you two. Go and read my link blog. The iPhone is the hottest thing to hit tech in quite a while and if you can’t deal with that you’ll probably be better off reading TechMeme or Digg or my link blog where you’ll see a bit more balance.

Not quite sure if Scoble is loving the iPhone for the search traffic or if he truly is an iPhone addict.

Glad to see there is a site and someone took the initiative, and it is error free (standrads wise), but man is it ugly! Definitely done by a developer :-)

@4 So, if I understand this right, you are to the iPhone what MSNBC is to Paris Hilton?

  15. LayZ: if 300 developers meet on a Friday night in San Francisco to talk about Paris Hilton I’ll talk about that. The iPhone has developers and geeks excited in a way that no other product currently has them excited. Deal with it.

  17. JP: if you’ve met me you realize I’m one of the believers in the iPhone. It is one of the best products to come out of our industry in the past five years and will have an impact on a whole raft of things for years to come.

And it really doesn’t bring much traffic. Well, except when all the Nokia fans get pissed off and come over here to call me a moron.

Actually iScoble, it’s not so much that people don’t want to spend Friday night with me, it’s that the I don’t live my live in twitter-sized sound bytes. So I spend a lot of time reading, writing etc, things that require me to to be home alone. I enjoy it. In any event, I used your blog as a quick way to keep up on some of the small emerging technologies. You’re an entertaining read and you’re podcasts are good though often I can’t hear things over your laughing, but hey, you have a good time. So I’ll check other sites while you bathe in the emotional puddle of gush that is your feelings about the iPhone and check back when the hype dies down. I’m not sure how a cell phone with a nice GUI is anything other than designer chic minus features other phones have but then I don’t have a cell at all so perhaps I’m missing out on the mindblowing life-altering experiences that being able to make a phone call, surf the web slowly or listen to mp3′s can bring. Oh wait, I can do all those things without the iPhone….hmmmmmmm…..zzzzzzzzzzzzz……
