An alternate theory for my iPhanaticism
Jamie does another one of his C9Park cartoon strips where he explains all of Microsoft’s strategies in one short read. Hillarious.

Another ‘hilarious’ IT cartoon where the cartoonist needs therapy rather than to be given the oxygen of publicity. Sigh.

Well, your iPhanaticism reach us here in iAustralia by means of you son, iPatrick.
I thorougly enjoyed your coverage of the event and am facinated by your continued coverage of iPhone related news. Bring it on !

His Photoshop drawings were on Digg recently as well:

Jamie is a MS fan who creates Microsoft toys and puts them in miniature diorama’s like Dark Helmet with his action figures in Spaceballs. He also worships MS and hopes that MS “takes over Linux” and eventually makes people wear bar codes on their arms to prove their “genuine advantage”.

On the subject of C9 people on Digg.

Another C9 member was also on Digg yesterday, Jason Cox, who got pummeled and buried instantly for his remarks. I happened to score a combined 36 diggs for 2 comments taking the top comment dig spot in the post.

Chris, you unsurprisingly (as the former C9 troll in residence) neglected to mention that Jamie is also a huge critic of Microsoft - specifically relating to UX and UI.
Wouldn’t have expected any less of you though.

1h8b33r,
The only reason he makes suggestions relating to the Microsoft UX and UI is because he wants Microsoft to improve and for it to be more widely used, and for the monopoly to continue and expand.
Not because he truly finds Microsoft as a business and as an organization despicable or wants to hold them responsible for their questionable tactics.
Though he does not understand the concept of usability such as,
http://www.betterdesktop.org/wiki/index.php?title=Data
, those tests that guarantee that the Linux Desktop is usable.
His comments are always an attempt to help the company. Not to really chastise it or hold them accountable for anything.
Those users of Digg, Slashdot, and Mugshot.org really truly scold Microsoft badly and for the right reasons. Not to help “Mr. Pompus Billionaire screw the user Microsoft”, but to help ALL PEOPLE have a better computing experience.
And I know who you are 1h8b33r, such a comment can not be masked by the anonymity of the Internets TM.

Robert,
Will Apple be enabling live streaming to the iPhone via Darwin or QT Streaming Server? Is it enabled now? The Live Earth concerts are using QT Streaming Server, so that would be a good test.

I’ve been reading your blog for the past few weeks and I have to say, you have a giant, unhealthy obsession with the iPhone and you write about it way too much.
Let’s be serious here, it’s a phone that plays mp3s, and it has a web browser. What could be so captivating about it that you’re compelled to blog about it every single day, multiple times a day?
If this continues, I will have no choice but to unsubscribe your feed.

philcollins: I’ll get off of it. To tell you the truth there isn’t much else that’s interesting right now. Look at TechMeme. And it’s not just another Web and MP3 phone. This one broke all the sales records in the past week. All of them. So it’s done something no other phone has done. And the fact that there’s 300 developers here sitting on the floor of Adobe coding like mad and having a great time tells me something interesting is happening here. Something that hasn’t happened since the Facebook announcement.

[...] A guy named Phil Collins says he’s going to unsubscribe from my blog if I don’t stop talking about iPhone. Filed under: iPhone, Apple @ 2:58 pm [...]

You go phil! However iScoble is right, the amount of interest is huge. The power of the Apple marketing and design machine is uber kung fu indeed! Of course I’m not sure that sales records translate into technological acheivement the way it’s posited above. But the iPhone sure looks purty and that seems to be enough. Personally, I’d be more excited if Apple put out a 12″ notebook with a solid state hard drive (and that crappy macbook is no substitute)…..then I’d go stand in line……

Robert: re Phil Collins - play him some Genesis tunes on your iPhone-)
seriously bunch of tech companies filed to go IPO…8 on past Monday -so plenty to write about …but much of it is boring enterprisey stuff which only folks like me get excited about -)

“Of course I’m not sure that sales records translate into technological acheivement ”
I think it’s the other way around Chris, technological achievement doesn’t necessarily translate into sales records. Just look at Nintendo vs Sony & Microsoft in the game console market. it’s all about the experience and execution.

Sorry, I could not resist.
