Rick Smolan, iCult member, Facebooker, and famous photographer
Rick Smolan just dropped by. He’s the photographer behind a series of hugely successful coffee-table books. Day in the Life. American 24/7. He has another project cooking for September 17th. Why is everything cool going to happen that day? TechCrunch 20. My son is due. Now yet another thing coming from Rick that you’ll want to be part of. More on that when he gives me permission to talk about it.
Anyway, he is a member of the iCult and is a Facebook friend. In fact, I just dropped a video onto my Facebook profile that we did here in University Coffee in Palo Alto (you have to add me as a Facebook friend to see the video). We’ll soon do a photowalking together too.

I saw Rick several years ago when Sue and I were in San Francisco and he was doing a presentation on Passage to Vietnam. He was also a friend of Robyn Davidson and was talked about in her great book Tracks. Great to hear about him.

I am wondering in desparation if there is any way to get in touch with Rick, leave an email for him, or even some way Rick can suggest to get in touch with someone for urgent help with an Amerasian deportation case going to court in the next couple weeks. We are in desperate need of an expert testimony as to the treatment of Amerasians in South Korea. He was adopted by his American parents from the orphanage run by Father Keene and we came across the story of Natasha. I felt compelled to attempt in some way to contact him for help. I thank you in advance for any help and pray you get this in time.

Our daughter-in-law was also at Father Keen’s orphanage for a short time before she was adopted in 1976 by an American family. I went back with her and my son to Seoul last summer where they adopted a 5 month old baby boy. She wanted so much to find something about her Korean family, but it didn’t happen. She is a beautiful lady with 4 little boys and I would love for her to have some closure as to her background. Her name is also Natasha.

Hi Colleen,
I’d love to get in touch with your daughter in law, Natasha. I was @ father Keene’s until 1978 & later adopted to an American family. I am trying to locate the orphange & would love to hear form you. I have some invaluable information I need to share with some of the orphans who come from father Keene orphanage.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who’s been adopted from father Keene’s or anyone who has any imformation on the orphanage.
Seraching for the truth!
Thank you.
