Baby News, Due Date report
We went to the doctor’s yesterday. Milan’s due date is today but it doesn’t look like birth will happen today.
The doctor scheduled us for inducing birth next Tuesday evening. Hmmm, maybe I’ll be able to show up at TechCrunch 40 anyway! When I last saw Mike Arrington he told me he was going to get Milan’s birth scheduled for after the conference. I didn’t believe him, but now I’m really a believer!
Anyway, everything is good, we’re using the time to relax and get ready. We’ll let you know when it happens. If you watch my Twitter account we’ll post a Twitter post first whenever news changes.

Don’t you *dare* show up at TechCrunch40 - inducements aren’t always run of the mill so you should take what time you both have to rest up, save your energy, and make sure you both know the birth plan. As to to TC40, have an RSS for my recordings… http://techconf.thepodcastnetwork.com/

If she gets induced, there’s a great chance she’ll wind up having to have a c-section. Hopefully, she will go into natural labor before then. This should be on Milan’s schedule, not the doctor’s.

If they do induce Mariam, tell her to take the drugs. I had told her to try to have the baby naturally, but when they start that Pitosin drip (or whatever they are using nowadays) it makes the labor more intense. I swear I was just going to call you when I got to this post in my feed. I was hoping he would be born on the Jewish New Year.

Hopefully it starts on it’s own. My wife was induced and the labor was 22 hrs, so it can sometimes still be a long labor.
Either way, I’m sure that everything will work out and I’m sure that you will let us all know when the little guy is here.

I was 6 days late with my first and was induced. I ended up having an emergency c-section. Yes, advise her to take the drugs! My cousin was also late with her first and they induced and she didn’t have a c-section so it all depends. But statistics indicate that more c-sections occur after induction than without induction.
Don’t go anywhere…be there for her before and as long as you can after baby arrives. And be helpful…no whining/arguing. I wish someone had given my husband that advice. :-)
