Halo 3 Launches
Here’s my photos from the Halo 3 Launch party last night in Silicon Valley. Guy Kawasaki has a better post, though.
It was a great party, glad I talked Maryam into letting me go. Thanks to Daniel for coming along. Good vibe and lots of smiles.

Only white geeky nerd diehards this time around. Didn’t match the fever pitch of Halo 2, and not all have upgraded to 360, plus general boredom with the endless Quakehead-Halo death-matches, Halo 2 has been out enough for people to get really sick of it, whereas it seemed half the audience for Halo 2 was minted brand new. It will still sell zillions, but third time not a charm I’d say, lost the luster. So when’s that vaporware movie coming out? ;)

What is it about this game that has everyone going coo coo for coco puffs?
IF you don’t mind there is a blog asking this question if anyone can answer it that would be awesome.

There will always be a group of people who think being the first to own the latest thing, be it the iPhone, Windows Vista, or Halo, is the greatest reward. Let’s not confused hype with quality. I’m sure the people who buy Halo 3 a week from now will enjoy it as much as the people who stood in line.

Thanks for taking me Robert! I had such a good time meeting everyone!

I went to the party in Irvine, looks like up north was bigger than down here.

Next time I may need to go there. 2 people won XBOX(s) and then there were a few watches to be one.
There were 6 XBOX set up for people to play and around 100 people showed up.

Talking your wife into letting you go? You have to ask?
Man am I glad I’m not married.

Guess it wouldn’t be Microsoft without some major screw-up of sorts, heard from 5 people already with the unplayable limited-edition scratched disks. And in true Microsoft fashion, they quickly responded with a replacement disk program, being that they are so used to replacing the actual 360 units. ;)

MS knows it is in deep doo-doo. For them to even be considering buying into Facebook shows their desperation.
What people term as Web 2.0 is really boring. Nothing new. Just a different way of doing something.
Wake me up when some of the tech on Star Trek is available. Until then, I’m just as impressed with a Commodore 64 as I am with a laptop with 4 GB running Linux.
More of you should read Cult of the Amateur by Andrew Keen. It’s hard to read that book and not agree with the author. Go ahead, try it… Look at the other aspects of the world around you.

I was taking a look at Guy Kawasaki’s photos and when I saw your photo, you remind me of the actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Well I guess its time for me to break down and get a 360. Not sure how to break it to my other 3 Xbox’s.

I really enjoyed standing in line, I did however, go in at midnight and picked it up, I didn’t feel like taking the whole day off to get a game that wasn’t going to get in my hands any faster if I waited a few more hours.
This game is so much fun at my house we are playing a whole bunch. :)
