  1. The saddest part about this commercial is that it’s not new. This is about a year old. You’re right, though — Microsoft hasn’t delivered at all.

  3. This advert is about as badly planned and understood as the Dell advert which showed dusty boxes of PCs awaiting collection. Their intention is good but dont they see the irony in producing an advert which repeats the mistakes the man in the advert is making ?

Dell managed a slight come reprieve with Ideastorm. They did it without “moderating” or “managing” the contributions of their consumers. Its not something I believe Microsoft is capable of. Possibly thats the first thing Microsoft should be doing, when they ask me all those questions ( where do you want to go today ? ) maybe they should have been listening…

To be fair, this was not targeted externally, but internally at Microsoft’s European teams as a way of bringing a renewed focus to communication over technology. See http://bringtheloveback.com/2007/05/19/why-the-movie-and-why-this-movie/

And while it may feel like a year since it was launched, it has been less than six months.

  10. To answer the question “Has Microsoft done anything lately that YOU specifically asked for?”, I have to honestly say that Windows Live Writer Beta 3 was pretty much exactly what I had been asking for. That is one MS product that I’m happy with.

Live writer is nice, no doubt.

But I asked for Onfolio Live. Onfolio is a ‘live toolbar’ plugin, so why doesn’t it store my info ‘in the cloud’ like the rest of the live apps?  I also asked them to fix
    this bug
    .  Nothing yet.

Horrible acting. Hire real actors and make this funny. They’re not really doing this.

As a matter of fact, yes. Microsoft announced just yesterday that F# is moving from “research language” to an actual product! I can’t wait. :)
