Hugh Macleod drawing my next business card

You’ve seen Hugh Macleod’s cartoons that he draws on the backs of business cards.

Well, I filmed him drawing my next business card. They’ll be ready in a week or two.

We talk about how he came up with his little characters and such. He also talks about how he came up with the Blue Monster. Among other things.

I filmed this with my cell phone in the Palo Alto Taxis (a hamburger joint) so it’s a bit noisy.

  • Congrats on the new card! Couldn't have picked a cooler artist to create it for you!
  • It should flip over and read 4,999!
  • Great, yet another lame Scoble video that sucks. Now I have to bookmark it to watch when I am home.

It could also say, "I would have more friends if Zuckerburg would let me"
  • Humm.. I think I'll steal the idea of having a business card like this. Drawing stuff as oppose to doing some graphic on the computer. I like it.
  • I think he should draw his sketchy lines for you and say: My social graph is a work of art
  • I wish Hugh would draw something that's more wireless-related, such as a takeoff on one of his other cards. I'd like to see a cartoon that says something like: "I'm only speaking to you because I've already read all my BlackBerry e-mail."

Or perhaps: "Only a two megapixel camera phone? Did you lose your job?!

I wish I could draw, sigh, for a new business card.

Hey! Get Thomas Hawk to Photowalk while Hugh Macleod is creating cartoons, and then throw up a random flowchart commentary on "biz card cartoon disruption" on KyteTV, and do it while driving.
  • The hand drawn business card is very cool. Anything that speaks to you and about you and reflects who you are and your personality will be effective.
