It's like looking in a mirror isn't it Mr. Scoble?
  • Yeah! I'm in the making!!
  • Was this supposed to be a backlash against top Web 2.0 tech bloggers.

He mentions O'Reilly by name, but who does Pete & Scott represent.

Is it who we think it is?

Did they NOT like this guy's Start-up.

You can make enemies in Silicon Valley easily. :-(
  • "It's funny because it's true."
  • I've more to this story here, including others videos from "Kommon Kraft" which have brand jacked "Common Craft"

Lee of CC even left on my blog, do read.

  • Wow!
  • What a douchebug
  • Scoble, thanks for the douchebaggery/love.
  • JasonM
    The truth hurts
  • ToddT
Those new media douchebags post videos about you Scoble, Yay. New media douchebags doing videos about new media douchebags using new media and having them linked by other new media douchebags... how pomo.
  • Christopher Coulter
New Media is the same as Old Media, just minus the writers and talent, production quality and distribution outlets. Of course all this is a good thing, you see, as it's more 'human' and 'authentic'.
  • Fuck that noize! When Twitterquake happens, it'll be a so-called 'New Media Douchebag' that tweets the alarm from the rubble of a South Park shopfront, just so hatas like this guy will know about the poisonous chemical cloud headed his way!

And will this ingrate even tweet a word of thanks? He won't even be on Twitter! Who's the REAL douchebag?
  • hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Douchebag eh? And he wasted precious time of ours for this?
  • Max
That is absolutely one of the funniest and most trenchant analyses of Web 2.0 media coverage I've seen.
  • David Balder
    Great video.
Like Al Capone said in the Untouchables movie, "Sometimes we laugh because it's funny and sometimes we laugh because it's true." Well it's definitely true here.

Scoble, I give you props for posting this, since it's targetted at your vocation (or at least, avocation). It's like you're calling out your own (a)vocation by positng this, and reminds me of Microsoft calling themselves out by making that "If Microsoft designed the iPod box" video. But Microsoft didn't just call themselves out, they did something about it and uncluttered their packaging. But will you (and other New Media Douchebags) improve likewise?
  • Maybe that's why I can't bring myself to blog, podcast, twitter or anything much else really... it's because I'm *not* a New Media Douchebag! ;)
  • OMG...what a riot!!! Can I add that to a resume?
  • I created the video not to shine the light on *the megaphone* per se but instead *the source*. If you're an asshole, you're going to be an asshole on any medium. "New media" or "social networking" or "conversation marketing" is not the point of the video; douchebags are.

@CC - "New Media is the same as Old Media, just minus the writers and talent"

I recently saw this quote about Robert (not very flattering, but follows your line about talent)

The writings of Robert Scoble are like a thousand monkeys typing, short about 999 monkeys.
  • Hmmmmm. Video of someone writing on a whiteboard, complaining that there isn't proper substance and gravity in current media.

Reminds me of being in Media Studies 101 back in the late 70's. But it was chalk, not whiteboards.

    Technology is really amazing.
  • What a douchebug
  • Douchebag? No such word!
  • Qurat
    Funny!
  • Clearly it's time to embrace the word 'douchebag' as a term of empowerment for the marginalized geek community.
  • Wow Lee Lefever has a posse - (or as the douchebags say, he's a meme).
  • Clever. But too long.
