All about the conversation

by on December 16, 2007

I love this photo of Dave Winer and my son, Patrick, deep in conversation yesterday during sunset. I’m uploading a ton of other photos right now to Flickr and SmugMug to compare those two services. More on those later but if you want to watch along my Flickr account is here and my SmugMug account is here.

Dave Winer and Patrick Scoble have a chat at sunset

  • Good pic Robert but my favorites are the warm (orange/yellow) Milan pics...cute kid!!
  • PXLated: a lot more photos to come! Come back in a couple of hours.
  • Sweet, Robert! Would love to know what things you like I about each - I suspect that, like quite a few of our customers, you'll opt to use both since both have their own strengths.

BTW, you chose one of the Themes I really like (Carbonite), but I should warn you that it's one we haven't made SmugMungous yet. We will, soon, but if you want to see your photos BIG, you might want to try some of the others out. The default, and about 50% of the other (I think) are SmugMungous'd already.

    Have fun!
  • This is a really great shot. I looked at both and I find that SmugMug loads really slowly. I definitely prefer Flickr.
  • Mike: weird. Here SmugMug loads quicker.
  • Don: I just went back to default theme. Smugmungous is now on! :-)
  • Wow, that is an awesome photo! Nice, Robert!
  • Diego
Nice photo. First thought? Looked like Michael Moore talking to someone.

SmugMug has won my pictures and come March 2008 my flickr acct will be turned off.

  • Diego: I thought the same thing. Both Moore and Winer are people I would like to meet too!

Great picture. Patrick is a lucky kid to get to know so many people at such a young age.
  • Diego
@Trevor: For myself, I'd like to meet Michael Moore.
  • That is a classic!
  • Smugmug is a winner. I am a former Flickr pro converted over to Smugmug. The primary reasons for me were 1) Speed, 2) Layout control and 3) Private based on password.

They are very responsive when I have questions.

Conversations about conversations themselves in how best to converse these conversations. All hail the power of the internet.
