John Battelle’s predictions for 2008

by on January 1, 2008

I’ll just say “ditto” since his predictions have been darn accurate in the past.

  • God I hate that Georgia font, it's becoming a disease.
  • Hmmm... Counting your recent Battelle references, I'd predict that you Robert will join Federated Media.
  • Tomi: if that was the case I'd go to Qik or Seesmic! :-)
  • hey scoby bro....werent you going to give your site a redesign in '07...or was it so subtle I missed it?
  • Dave Petersen
Chicken? We've all got to place career bet's for next year. "What he said" isn't exactly on the mark. How are you changing your life in anticipation of 2008?
  • I predict that 2008 will be another year that passes

    Guy
  • Let us dare to start predicting for the beginning of the next decade.

At the rate things are going - it will be a change in society's interaction not seen since the invention and mainstreaming of the telephone
  • I predict that watching video on a iPhone/iTouch via WiFi/Safari/Quicktime will be very popular this year and a viable way to distribute ad supported video.

I discovered how to watch Rocketboom on my TV from my iTouch here: http://podslug.com/blog/?p=114 ... I predict that many more content sites will enable over-the-air (WiFi) video playback on the iTouch.

I like his predictions this year, really clear and fairly precise. Last year a couple were pretty broad (e.g. A major internet company will run into privacy/trust issues).

There is a great twitter feed with a round up of all the new year predictions here: http://twitter.com/predictions08
  • Guys,
Stop predicting and start DOING THINGS.

Lots of stuff out there is HYPE, EX-AGGREGATION, BUSINESS and SURVIVAL activity.
  • Christopher Coulter
I predict that top bloggers will continue to cop-out with "important people listen to me" in face of declining relevance.
  • Christopher: you got it backward. In 2008 I listen to important (and non-important) people.
  • Jerry
@13 Them does that mean in 2008 there will be no references to how many interviews you did,how many links they got, how many "CEOs" you talked to, how many conferences you got invited to speak at,how many feeds you read, etc?
  • Puzz n' Bootleg
I predict this web board won't last long and just as the 1st guy who commented geeeee!!!! I hate this Georgia fonts.
