Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, takes Q&A at SXSW

by on March 10, 2008

Here’s the video of Mark “unplugged” in a Q&A at SXSW where he took a variety of questions from audience members.

might i respectfully suggest that qik mobile video is appropriate for certain spontaneous kinds of things, but this interview definitely wasn't one of them.
  • Mark Zuckerberg is here, there and everywhere at SXSW

    Robert,

Did you get a chance to ask Mark about the ConnectU filing that was due today? I'm sure it wasn't the top thing on his mind, but it's interesting that there's been no mention of any filing.

well basically I quit ... he doesn't repeat the questions so the answers are without context

did he answer THE question: can you actually recommend them?

Will they stop blocking people without warning and give them a reasonable opportunity to reinstate? Will they allow you to commit facebook suicide and remove content when you wish? If not, why the discussion ...

This is a pretty good commentary on zuck & fb too:

  • The answer to both these questions, Don, is obviously no. But, on the other hand, it's a free service, you're not paying a dime (though a little time) to use the service (if you choose to), so I can't see any reason for complaint. Go whine at the LinkedIN people to see if you can do the same thing.

    Robert,

I'm glad you captured this "dev garage" but I'm still not getting what you feel were the "better questions" from the boys in the back of the room heckling Sarah Lacy. You said their questions were better?

I mean, here we see a geek getting up and telling the world that he has pictures he wants to send to his girlfriend but not his parents or sisters and demanding some sort of "API" for this. When I hear that kind of stuff, I have to ask, but why not just use email if you don't want to be on social media?

And that kind of question is supposed to be the rich and complex "dev talk" we were being denied by having to listen to see if there'd be ANY answer from Lacy's very apt question -- "*are* you worth a billion?"

    I wasn't whining Vincent. I was asking a follow-up to Robert's earlier post:

He says he cannot recommend them ... until they fix a few things. So why post a 30 minute video on the guy after you just said he isn't doing what he should be doing and not ask those questions of him? I think that was a fair question. In fact maybe Scoble (or someone else) did ask these questions, but like I say, after 20 minutes of not being able to hear the questions I did give up and just ask.
