It was an awesome way to generate buzz, though. There's always some excitement surrounding a new browser release, but it tends to be muted somewhat by fears over bugs or unpleasant changes. Not so with this release: people just can't seem to wait to get their hands on version 3 even if they've already been using a release candidate version for a while!
