My design is being redone, expect weird stuff in meantime

by on April 10, 2009

I just changed my theme to one of the plain ones. I did that because we’re getting ready to make lots of changes. So, sorry I’ll be ugly for a while. Of course many of you are reading this in RSS so have no idea what I’m talking about. :-)

  • Hey, it may be ugly, but it is FAST! :)
    Rob
  • Nah, you'll always be ugly Scoble. But good to know the website soon won't be.
  • This looks like Scoble '98. Well played.
  • Chris Mc
    Looks like scripting news.
  • Yeah, let's keep it simple!
  • Pat
NYT Headline: Robert Scoble finally admits he's damn ugly. ;)
  • @Chris Mc - that is EXACTLY what I told him in Skype!
  • It's post CSS naked day :)
  • I am sure it will be good but I seriously felt that you had one of the best site designs already.
  • While you're at it, you should change the default Wordpress logo in your feed.
  • Just like CSS naked day
  • This looks like TOO clean for me :D

    Just kidding
  • Yes, it indeed look ugly. :)
  • Scoble - Belated Happy Naked CSS Day.

    Should've made it a competition.
Prize: a handful of your sponsors hard drives ...
  • While you're at it, take the time to get rid of the calendar widget. It's useless! ;-)
  • It's an improvement, keep it this way! ;)
  • Love it! So retro!
  • I like it like that. If you could only increase font size even more and have a narrower width so that it really looks like using the "readybility" bookmarklet it'd be even better. :-)
  • Hi! I am a blogger from Portugal. I visit your blog several times per day. You are a very good source of information on Internet, blogs and gadgets. I love your writing style. Thank you for sharing so good information.
  • hey, from germany!

    design? Where?
    coming from rss...
    :-)
  • Max
That was my thought as well. Someone contact Dave about this blatant rip! =]
  • Simplicity plus variety - the key to a great Blog ;)
  • excuse me but where are the frames and the little digger construction guy! isn't that where we've gone in the last 2 weeks with the framers? :)
  • Whew. I just restarted Safari, thinking it had finally eaten too much memory for the moment and wasn't loading your css. I should be seeing naked xhtml, right?
  • LaoTzim
    Jakob Nielsen would approve...
  • Did anyone else keep refreshing the page because they thought something was wrong with their connection? I did! :)
  • AD7863
And there I was messing about with Kaspersky. Silly me.
  • Hey! Is it still naked CSS-day? ;)
Seriousely, courier, times and blue underlined links are kind of cool. Throw in an animated gif and I'm in!

Robert... I absolutely LOVE this new layout... the text goes almost all the way across the screen, and it's nice and white-spacey... which makes it easier to read.

I think the retro look really does work. Please consider keeping it. I'll give you a few whuffie points if you do. ;-)

  • This is way cool.

I say keep it this way.

    Cheers! :-)
  • Your blog attracts readers with its quality content, not with it's looks. That's why your blog always tops in page ranking. So In future I could expect your blog comes in a new and exiting Template.
  • Well, it could be slightly less ugly I think, without harming your intention to de-prettify/clutter. The headline type is truly blaring, like the sudden blare of a car horn on a quiet street. And you don't need serial commas in a head that big either. Maybe technology, innovation & geek enthusiasm instead. Or if the ampersand seems too design-y, revert to and ... I'll put up with some ugly to read your posts, but must I be typographically yelled at or harmed by excessive punctuation? Or does these requests indicate I'm insufficiently geeky and thus irrelevant and should button it?
