On occasion they seem to slip and lose track of this and the crowd pushes back. In "Tribes" Seth Godin talks about the need to be exclusive to a certain extent. I believe the exclusive heritage and nature of Facebook are what make it appealing. Perhaps they should read Tribes and reinforce this concept?
