Going to Kyte.tv today

So, the Facebook app shipped today is Kyte.tv and I’ll be over there with Channel 4 KRON today at 2 p.m.

Watch my Kyte.tv channel today at about 2 p.m. — we’ll be chatting and putting up photos and other stuff while there. I’ll also be filming an interview for ScobleShow. TechCrunch has the details on the new Facebook app and other Kyte stuff.

Speaking of ScobleShow, this week we’ve put up a few interesting videos. Here’s a selection:

First, you’ve probably heard of Sonos (Mike Arrington has one in his house) but you probably haven’t seen one demonstrated. So John MacFarlane, CEO of Sonos, comes over and demonstrates one for us and talks about its deal with Pandora.

Then, in a continuing series on Work 2.0 we get a look at ThinkFree’s latest online office service and talk with Jonathan Crow, director of marketing there.

The world of media mashups is growing rapidly and we get a look at MixerCast. Highlight video here. Demo and interview with the CEO is here.

Finally, something for the developers, a look at Apatar, which lets you move data around between Web services. We also have an interview with the CEO and Founder.

See ya this afternoon.

  1. I’m not very impressed. I hope they use that VCap and have a good party with it. I saw incarnations of this app 3-5 years ago with FMS and Red5.

BTW, Here is some real tech news.
I spoke to Duc, the guy who coded MySpace today via email. I have been speaking to him for a while now on and off via email since I opened our social networking site and he was one of the first people to join. He is profile #2 on MySpace.

While I can’t discuss everything he told me, most of which is exciting. I can say that he is starting a new Adsense competitor called http://rubiconproject.com

Our new mega site will probably be one of the first customers of the service shortly after it launches next month.

  5. I did a little digging and it would seem that decentral/kyte.tv sent a business plan here http://www.dfj.com/submit_plan/index.html 4 mos after going live, then Nokia jumped on when they saw there was backing.

It also seems to be a private company with no ops to invest. I would have liked to put some money into it if they have the total lock on all Nokia phones. Then it doesn’t matter if the service is good or not.

Seeing all this VC reminds me of the Satan cartoon from the last Scobleizer post. TigerDirect and cheap band can save you from VC. :)

  7. “I have a Nokia phone. There’s a ton of things on it. None of which I’m forced to use.”

Nokia could put software on the phone to use the service directly from a 1 button function.

Can you confirm on whether or not the company is public?
I’m having a bad Google day. Sometimes they only go IPO as a bail out, so you never know.
